Five Tips to A Better Morning

1.    Pray

It can be easy to hop out of the bed and get going with your day but I want to encourage you to take some time to pray right after you wake. I sometimes kneel beside my bed, kneel in front of my couch, write my prayers in my journal, or quickly say a quick prayer as I am leaving the house before the gym. One of my favorites is when I pray out loud as I am driving to the gym in the morning or when I pray in the car before I go into the gym. Prayer changes things and is imperative in getting our day going in the right direction. It’s also important that we acknowledge God first in our lives (Matthew 6:33) especially in the beginning of our day.

2.    Work out

Get up earlier to do at least 20 minutes of exercise. Working out in the morning has been proven to help our mood, confidence, and health. It’s amazing. If you struggle with working out consistently, try to get an accountability partner who can hold you accountable to this.

3.    Journal

Journaling is like free therapy. You can use journaling to write down goals, solve problems, express gratitude, write prayers and the list goes on. Journaling in the morning can help you have the mental clarity you need to start your day.

4.    Get Some Sun

Getting some sunshine or a sunshine light bulb can help you feel happier and it’s been proven to help release happy hormones such as endorphins and serotonin. It also helps to release vitamin D.

5.    Use Daily Affirmations

Using daily affirmations can help us with our confidence and mood. They should start with “I am”. A few of my favorite I love to use are: “I am the beloved Child of God”, “I am powerful”, “I am bold”, and “I am anointed”.
